    Thank you to everyone who joined the Hong Kong Tech Startup Mixer hosted by HKANC last week (9/19)! It was an incredible evening, with HKANC Chair  Brian Rowbotham  welcomed our guests - Bay Area tech enthusiasts and business leaders coming together to support innovation and collaboration. We are filled with gratitude as we look back on the incredible success of the HKANC Scholarship Foundation’s 22nd Annual Golf Tournament, held at the stunning Blackhawk Country Club in Danville on September 10, 2024. With over 100 participants, including community leaders, professionals, and supporters, the day was full of camaraderie, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to a greater cause. Not only did our golfers put their best foot forward on the course, but their participation also directly contributed to raising crucial funds for supporting education and uplifting deserving scholars. This event fostered new and lasting connections within the Hong Kong community, with every swing bringing us closer to empowering young talent.   • Event Recap | May 19 | Hong Kong Culture Day

    On the past Sunday (5/19), over 300 people attended the "Hong Kong Culture Day" at San Francisco Main Library on Sunday co-organized by HKANC, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, San Francisco, Save Cantonese 守護粵語 and Happy Picasso Art Studio. The event featured performances and exhibits of classic Hong Kong music, literature, TV and film displays, traditional Chinese medicine sachet making, and unique Hong Kong snacks and drinks. The event aimed to showcase the unique charm of Hong Kong culture. HKANC is thankful for the opportunity to co-organize this event, giving back to the community and promoting Hong Kong culture. Attendees enjoyed classic songs by legendary Hong Kong artists, traditional snacks, and a documentary on Hong Kong festivals and folk crafts. This event highlighted the strong cultural ties between Hong Kong and San Francisco.     Over the past weekend (3/16), the Hong Kong Association of Northern California (HKANC) hosted its 2024 Annual Fundraising Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown San Francisco, with close to three hundred prominent figures from the business community in attendance. This year marks the association's 40th anniversary, and the gala's theme was "A Journey Through Time: Forty Years of Resilience, Unity, and Community Pride." During the gala, HKANC was honored with the proclamation letter and Certification of Recognition celebrating its contributions over the past 40 years. Honorary speakers included: - Secretary Amy Tong of Government Operations for the State of California - Mr. Mark Chandler, Director, International Affairs at City of San Francisco - Mr. Mason Lee from the San Francisco Mayor's Office - City of Millbrae Mayor Anders Fung - Director Jacko Tsang, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, San Francisco - Celebrity Master Chef Martin Yan - Global AI Speaker Jeremiah Owyang We were also honored to have two of the founders - Mr. Dicky Yip, MBA, BBS, MBE, JP, Director of Sun Hung Kai Properties along with Mr. Tony Chan, Managing Member of Worldco Holding, LLC to talk about the journey of the Association during the fireside chat.
