We were able to give toys to over 400+ kids and families in our neighborhood this year! APACC Chair - Angela Cheung, who also serves as HKANC Vice-chair, welcomed every family and volunteer supporting this event. This meaningful toy giveaway was filled with arrays of toys, a decorated Christmas tree, a Santa Claus photo session, arts and crafts, free books from our local Visitacion Valley Public Library & hot chocolate! Special thanks to our co-host - APACC, for carrying on this tradition for over 20 years, and everyone for sponsoring, making donations, and volunteering to make this toy giveaway possible! HKANC this past Wednesday (12/13) held our 2023 Annual General Meeting and announced the elected Board of Directors for the coming 2023. More than 40 members and guests attended the meeting and celebrated the end of the year with a delicious dinner and laughters! HKANC 2023 Chair - Brian Rowbotham welcomed our Board of directors, executive committee members, members, and guests for their presence and announced the Board election result. Mr. Rowbotham also shared his recent trip to Hong Kong, and highlights at the 24th Hong Kong Forum. He invited everyone to join the effort and support our 40th Anniversary Gala on March 16, 2024, at the Four Seasons Hotel, San Francisco. 2024 has been an fruitful year for HKANC, with a series of online and in-person programs. Online events featured various trending topics, including economy out look and tax and estate planning. We also had a great turn out at the signature 39th Anniversary Gala held at Ritz Carlton San Francisco with 300 attendees. Besides the virtual platform, HKANC in-person events were well attended by members and guests, including the panel discussion in Hong Kong opportuniteis, real estate market updates. HKANC was also pleased to welcome overseas guests, including Dr. Rosanna Wong. In the summer, we hosted the signature Golf Fundraising event for talented students in Northern California. In addition, website and social media platforms are frequently updated with valuable resources and tools and featured events collaborating with different organizations, including APACCSF and APAFSS. Here are a few key statistics (updated on Dec 15): HKANC hosted/co-hosted two virtual events and ten in-person events with over 600 attendees! We have more than 200 Corporate members & Individual members in 2023. More than 100 guests participated in the 2022 Golf Fundraising Tournament and raised over $450,000 since the scholarship program's inception and awarded $15,000 to five deserving students. Looking forward to 2024, HKANC will continue to offer programs and events that align with our mission, fostering closer economic, cultural, and academic ties between Hong Kong and Northern California and facilitating business opportunities for individuals and corporations interested in Greater China and its neighboring region.
