2020 Year End Message From The Chair

Dear HKANC Directors, Members and Friends,

As my term comes to an end, I hope this year end message finds you and your loved ones all in good health. 2020 has been a very tumultuous year as every aspect of our lives has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. HKANC was no exception as the pandemic has also brought many challenges and changes to how we operate. This past March, HKANC moved to an entirely virtual set up so that we could continue our networking events without interruption. Since the start of COVID-19 restrictions, we have hosted 10+ webinars - serving many hundreds of participants throughout California. Virtual events have been working successfully for the past nine months and will likely continue well into 2021. Although we miss the opportunity to see our friends and members in person, we will continue our virtual networking events as long as it is necessary. Despite the turmoil, we’re very thankful to be able to host our annual gala at Ritz Carlton San Francisco on Feb 29. 2021 will likely be another year full of challenges but also opportunities to grow and learn. Our sincerest hopes are that as the vaccines become more readily available and more people get vaccinated, life will start returning to normal. It is more important than ever to continue our work delivering service to our community. Last but not least, I am once again thankful for the strength, intelligence, and willingness of our Board to do whatever is necessary to keep our association running. It’s been my great pleasure to work with this group for the last three years, and I look forward to the day when we can once again gather in person. I wish you all a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year. Best Regards,

Wilson Lau Chairman Hong Kong Association of Northern California
